Beautiful Biker Boots

The humble biker boot is an underestimated shoe.  It has become staple festival fare - an alternative to wellies, or getting your heels stuck in the mud - and is often worn with a bare leg and something denim at the top of it. However, at this time of year – when you can’t rely on the weather forecast and chancing your Opening Ceremony sandals seems like crazy talk (no one wants to be that person in fluorescent sandals in cold autumn rain) -  the biker is the perfect boot.

You can wear it with anything from skinnies, to minis, tights, stockings, boucle, brocade and mad prints and it can be dressed up or down for many occasions, even fashion week (see Poppy Delevingne at the A/W 12 shows wearing hers with sequins).  Plus, it doesn’t feel like a proper winter boot so you can pretend Christmas isn’t only 104 days away and get your pins out.  Biker boots tend to be leather, so they’re hardwearing and warm, and you don’t have to sell your puppy to get some either, even if you go designer.
